Hola! My name is Alicia Barrios. I am a born and raised Tucsonian.
Life as a photographer is something that I could have never imagined would be a reality.
As a child of two immigrant parents you are told to work hard and focus on education. I did just that. I attended the University of Arizona and obtained my Bachelors degree in Education. I then attended a school in Spain ( Universidad de Alcala) and received a masters in Teaching Spanish as a second language.
I was a teacher for three years and I loved every second of it. However, my heart felt like it was missing something. I had always been a natural creative person, I loved to learned about new creative outlets through out the stages of my life. My creative side always came to me easily. I believe that we are given gifts, and we must do something with those gifts.
In February of 2021 I knew that my photography could no longer grow unless I gave it my full effort. I decided to leave education and pursue my dream in photography.
I have loved getting to learn from other photographers. I am enjoying learning about the business side of this adventure.
Everyday I feel thankful to be in a place to serve the people in my community and help them capture a special moment in their lives. I do not take my clients for granted and I cannot wait to see how we grow together.
