Some stories feel like they’re pulled straight from the pages of a fairy tale — Allan and Ashlynn’s engagement was one of them. It was a full-circle moment in every sense. I’ve had the joy of knowing both Allan and Ashlynn for a few years now, and this milestone felt like hitting fast forward on a beautiful chapter we’ve all been waiting for.
Back in 2022, when my sister got engaged at Windy Point Vista on Mt. Lemmon, Allan and Ashlynn selflessly stepped in to help. They played along with the plan, helping convince my sister she was simply modeling for a shoot — never suspecting what was really in store. And now, just a few years later, we watched their own story unfold, with their kindness returned in the most meaningful and poetic way.
For months, Allan held onto a ring, waiting patiently for the perfect moment to ask Ashlynn the question that would change their lives forever. The timing had to be just right. So when Ashlynn and I had set a date for a modeling shoot, he saw his opportunity and reached out. With a quiet confidence and the help of some of their loved ones, the plan began to unfold.
Ashlynn, being as intuitive as she is, may have had a tiny suspicion tucked away in the back of her mind — but I did everything I could to make sure it stayed there. From suggesting we were meeting up with another model friend, to steering the conversation far away from anything proposal-related, it was all part of the surprise. We stopped along the breathtaking view of Mt. Lemmon- at windy point- and with her beauty she captivated the landscape. Look at the beautiful images we created, little did she know, something even more special was awaiting her at the top.
The scene Allan created was nothing short of magical. Deep in the forest, beneath the towering trees, he had set up the most stunning picnic — romantic, serene, and filled with meaning. There he stood, waiting. And when Ashlynn arrived, the moment unfolded in a way none of us will ever forget. Her surprise, his emotion, the beauty of the setting… it was picture-perfect.
What made it even more special was the bond these two clearly share — a love rooted in deep friendship, faith, and the unwavering belief that God brought them together for a purpose. Their journey, individually and together, had been gently and intentionally tailored so that their paths would meet. They met in the most beautiful way, and with God’s perfect timing…but that’s a story for another day.
As if the proposal wasn’t magical enough, Allan had one more surprise waiting: an engagement party right after, with all of their loved ones gathered to celebrate their joy. The love, the laughter, their people all together— it was one of those rare moments where time felt like it stood still.
